Not Just Another Cookbook!!
Indian Home Cooking is a very chic cookbook and is featured in USA Today as one of the top 5 cookbooks for this Fall. Check it out.
The cool thing about this book is that it is a very practical cookbook. It focuses on the preparation of home-style food, but with easy to use and readily available ingredients. Suvir is a genius at this, and I can attest to this first hand, having eaten a plethora of his preparations. I think this will become invaluable for many of us who are impatient with the rigors of cooking meals, yet crave the food cooked at home, not the genre of food server in restaraunts in the US.
And for folks in the US, this is a perfect source to taste the food that is actually eaten in Indian homes. It may be more suited to palates that are hesitant to venture the world of very spicy and complicated foods. If you have eaten Indian food only in American restaraunts, you haven't eaten the real stuff. Suvir truly "demystifies" the art of Indian cooking in his book.

Hi Can't agree more. Indian home cooking is very different to restaurant cooking wherever you are. Here in the UK this style of cooking is becoming more popular everyday as the British palate is now well educated in the subleties of Indian food. If anyone wants to try the recipes for themselves and cant find the ingredients easily, you might want to visit my online store - we are the largest and most established brand in the UK for the British national dish - curry! If you want to take a look visit http://www.natco-online.com We ship to the US and Canada as well as the UK and EC. Any special requests simply contact me via the email address on the website.
